EdgeMax Liteのディスクが死んじゃったので復旧したお話

前の記事に引き続きトラブルネタですねw
こちらも作業ログ的な感じです。

EdgeMax Lite使ってますか?

僕は昨年あった以下のイベントで購入しました。

それからという物それまでのNEC無線親ルーターと置き換えて
楽しい生活を送っていたのですが、異変は突如やってきました。

事の始まり

久しぶりに「新しいファームウェア出てないかなぁ」と
Ubiquitiのサイトに遊びに行ってみると、
数週間くらい前に出ているじゃないですか、1.5.0が・・!

さくっとアップデートしようとダウンロードして
いつものごとくedgemaxへアップロードしてアップデート作業を終えたところ、
SQUASHFSやらI/O周りエラーが頻発しているじゃありませんか・・・

あまりのも突然だったので再起動とかして試しているうちに
起動できず無限ループの状態に・・・w

これが火曜日(7/8か9)くらいの出来事で、
寝る前に作業してたんでさぁ大変状態にw

平日は対応している間がないので、
慌ててVLANとかの設定を変えたりして、
とりあえずメインサブネットだけ繋がるようにして
土日までしのぐことにしました。。

そしてやってきた土曜日

ディスクというかUSBメモリが刺さっていることはわかっていたので、
とりあえず分解することにしました。

まずはひっくり返して裏面のねじを2カ所外します

これだけで簡単に上蓋かが外れて基板が出てきます

赤マークの所にUSBメモリがいるので外して置きます

ちなみに元々入ってたのは下の写真の左側です

右側が今回交換する新しいメモリです

Amazonでそこそこお安かったのでSanDiskのやつにしました。

もともとのメモリを見てわかるとおり、端子と同じくらいのスリムかつ
小さいサイズじゃないとだめなので交換するやつを買うときは注意しましょう。

ディスクが生きていれば

# dd if=/dev/sdx of=/tmp/backup.img

的なことをしておきたいんですが、試したところファイルシステムエラー+メモリ自体のエラーで完了できなかったのであきらめました。。w

コンソール作業

ここまできたら

を参考に環境を作っていきます。

まずは emrk-0.9c.bin をダウンロードしておきます。

そして既存で動いているDHCPサーバーに次の設定をサンプル通り追加しておきます。

今回tftpサーバーはiMacに担当してもらうことにしました。
そして以下のサーバーを利用してみました

ちゃちゃっと設定して起動しておきます

あとはコンソールポートに接続して電源を入れます。

あとはこんな感じでログインプロンプトが出てくれば無事に復旧です。
バックアップなどから設定を復旧して無事メインルーターとして利用できるようになりました!
